Introduction

There are 75 TMs and 6 HMs in Polished Crystal. Big improvement over vanilla, TMs are unlimited-use now! You can teach them to as many Pokémon as you want without losing the item. No more hoarding Earthquake and being afraid to use it.

I've listed everything below with exact locations. Click through to see the item pages and location maps if you need more details.

You need these for progression. Most of them you'll pick up naturally just playing through the game.

Department Store Purchases

Goldenrod and Celadon both have TMs for sale. Personally I grab Protect early - it's useful.

Game Corner Prizes

These cost coins but they're worth it. Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Flamethrower are some of the best coverage moves in the game.

Tips

TMs are unlimited-use so don't hesitate to teach them. You're not losing anything.

Gym TMs usually match the leader's type.

A lot of TMs are hidden items! If you're missing one, grab the Itemfinder and check the area again. I've missed plenty of hidden items on first pass.

The Game Corner has some of the best TMs in the game - Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower. Worth grinding coins for if you need good coverage moves early.

Department stores sell weather moves and defensive stuff like Protect and Reflect. Convenient if you're building a more competitive team.
