Egg Groups
Egg groups determine which Pokémon can breed together in Polished Crystal. Two Pokémon can produce an egg if they share at least one egg group. Click on any group to see all compatible Pokémon.

How Egg Groups Work
Two Pokémon can breed if they share at least one egg group and are opposite genders (or one is Ditto). The offspring will be the same species as the mother (or the non-Ditto parent when breeding with Ditto).
Breeding Bridges
Pokémon in multiple egg groups act as "bridges" for transferring egg moves between groups. For example, Marill belongs to both Water 1 and Fairy groups, allowing egg moves to transfer between these groups.
Special Cases
- Ditto can breed with any Pokémon except those in the Undiscovered group
- Undiscovered group Pokémon (babies, legendaries) cannot breed at all
- Genderless Pokémon can only breed with Ditto
