Stat Compare

Base stat totals (BST) alone don't tell the full story - stat distribution determines a Pokémon's role and viability. A Pokémon with 500 BST focused in Attack and Speed makes an excellent sweeper, while the same total spread evenly across all stats creates a mediocre generalist.

When comparing similar Pokémon, look at key stat differences: does one outspeed important threats? Does it hit harder physically or specially? Comparing stats helps you choose between similar options (Gyarados vs Kingdra), identify which Pokémon fills a team role better, and understand type matchups beyond just weaknesses - sometimes raw stats overcome type disadvantages.
