Polished Crystal Kimono Girls: Ecruteak Locations, Teams & Rewards

Introduction

There are eight Kimono Girls in Pokémon Polished Crystal. Start with five Eeveelution trainers at the Ecruteak City Dance Theatre for the required Surf reward, then find three traveling cousins for optional items. This guide is for Polished Crystal; other Pokémon games use different Kimono Girl events and teams.

Quick order

1. Beat the five Dance Theatre trainers in Ecruteak City.
2. Speak to the gentleman in the audience for HM03 Surf.
3. Find Mako, Ami, and Mina after the Dance Theatre battles for their bonus rewards.

Dance Theatre (Ecruteak City)

The main five are inside the Dance Theatre. They're all level 20 and hold Lum Berries, so don't bother trying to status them right away.

Once you beat all five, talk to the gentleman sitting in the audience. He's the one who actually gives you HM03 Surf.

Traveling Kimono Girls

Three cousins are out training in different parts of Johto. They won't battle you until you've beaten all five sisters at the Dance Theatre first. Their Pokémon scale with your badge count, so they stay relevant even if you find them later.

Mina's Ability Patch is probably the best reward of the bunch. If you want to swap a Pokémon to its Hidden Ability without breeding, that's how you do it.

Battle Order

1. Beat all five girls at the Dance Theatre
2. Get Surf from the gentleman
3. Hunt down Mako, Ami, and Mina whenever you want their items

Personally, I usually grab Mako's Rare Candy early since Sprout Tower is right there in Violet City. The other two are more out of the way.

Battle Tips

They all use Eeveelutions with Lum Berries. So status moves won't stick on the first try.

If you're having trouble, a Ground-type handles both Flareon and Jolteon. Fighting-type beats Umbreon. Honestly at level 20 they're not that tough if you have a decent team, but the type variety can catch you off guard if you're not prepared.

The traveling girls scale with badges so they hit harder. Mina's Sylveon in particular can be annoying if you don't have a Steel or Poison type ready.
