Leaf Guard is an ability that prevents the user's status conditions from being inflicted during sunny weather. This means that if a Pokémon with Leaf Guard is in battle while sunny weather is active, it cannot be poisoned, paralyzed, burned, frozen, or put to sleep! Leaf Guard is a hidden ability onthe Chikorita line in Polished Crystal, but it is found on a few other grass type Pokémon in the game as well. This ability can be particularly useful in teams that utilize weather strategies too, as it allows the user to remain healthy and active while other Pokémon may struggle with status conditions or debilitating effects.
