Halves damage from physical moves.
Fur Coat is found only on Alolan Persian in Polished Crystal as its primary ability. This ability doubles the user's Defense stat (aka, halves damage taken from physical attacks), making it significantly more resilient against physical attacks.
That being said, it is also only found later in the game via Lucky Island at night - unless you're able to score one with Wonder Trade.
