Modern Emerald EV Training and IVs: Where to Train, and How to Fix Bad Stats

Modern Emerald gives you the tools to fix almost any Pokémon, but most of them open up after the credits. This is what is available, when, and where.
Before the League
- Vitamins work as normal and are sold in the usual shops, with the price affected by the Ultra Expensive challenge option if you turned it on.
- Macho Brace multiplies EV gain by ×5 — far stronger than vanilla's ×2, and it comes from the Battle Frontier reward shop, so it is a mid-run goal if you fight your way there early.
- Wild battles give EVs as usual, and the EV yields page lists every species' yield so you can pick targets deliberately.
- Oldale Town's NPC hands out an IV/EV editor on the summary screen, plus a Rare Candy box, an infinite Repel and a Healing Heart. If you consider that too much help, simply do not collect them — but it is the fastest way to repair a Pokémon you caught at level 30.
After the League
- EV training in Lilycove. The dedicated trainer spot exists once you have beaten the game.
- IV maximizer in Lilycove after beating the game, with the option to set IVs to 30 or 31 specifically so you can pick the Hidden Power type you want. It requires a level 100 Pokémon, so pair it with the EXP NPC below.
- Ability tutor in Lilycove after becoming champion — the only way to change a Pokémon's ability.
- Nurse NPC in Lilycove who exists purely to farm EXP.
- Chansey EXP trainer in Lilycove Gym — six level 100 Blissey, the fastest EXP in the game.
Hidden Power
Hidden Power is a flat 60 power move here and it shows its type in the summary screen and in battle, so you no longer need an external IV calculator. If you want a specific type, set the IVs to 30 or 31 combinations with the maximizer rather than breeding for the roll.
Which to do first
- Beat the League — it unlocks the Lilycove cluster.
- Farm the Chansey trainer to level 100 on the Pokémon you care about.
- Use the IV maximizer, choosing 30 or 31 IVs if you want a specific Hidden Power.
- Use the ability tutor if the ability roll was wrong.
- Then EV train, because EVs are the last layer and you want them on the final stats.
Tool locations and multipliers from the hack's official documentation and feature list; EV yields from the extracted game data.
