Modern Emerald TM and HM Locations: All 50 TMs and 8 HMs
Generated
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Modern Emerald keeps every TM and HM where vanilla Emerald put them, and all 50 TMs can be bought at the Battle Frontier PokéMart — but only when the Reusable TMs option is switched off. With reusable TMs on, you get repeatable use instead of a shop.
HMs
| HM | Move | Type | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
HM01 | Cut | Grass | Rustboro City Cutters House |
HM02 | Fly | Flying | Route 119 |
HM03 | Surf | Water | Petalburg City Wallys House |
HM04 | Strength | Normal | Rusturf Tunnel |
HM05 | Flash | Normal | Granite Cave 1F |
HM06 | Rock Smash | Fighting | Mauville City House 1 |
HM07 | Waterfall | Water | Sootopolis City |
HM08 | Dive | Water | Mossdeep City Stevens House |
HM01 Cut is now Grass type rather than Normal — one of the move changes in this hack, and it makes Cut usable on the special side for Grass types.

TMs worth prioritising
- TM26 Earthquake and TM24 Thunderbolt remain the two best value picks for a playthrough.
- TM30 Shadow Ball matters more than usual if you are on the Gen VI+ type chart, where Steel no longer resists Ghost.
- TM31 Brick Break covers both Norman and Glacia.
- TM13 Ice Beam is the answer to Winona's dragons, Drake, and the Lati@s encounter.
Locations read from the extracted game data (tmhm_locations.json), which is generated from the hack's own item scripts.
