Modern Emerald Rival Battles: Every Fight and Team
Your rival's team depends on which starter you chose — and so does Wally's, in the late fights. Modern Emerald has 39 rival battle entries, which sounds like a lot until you realise each route has a version for every starter choice.
The fights that matter
Route 103 is the first battle. Route 110 is the second, in the trick house area. Route 119 is the third and the first one where the rival has a full team.

Wally
Wally's battles are separate from your rival's and follow the story: Mauville gym, then Victory Road. His Victory Road team in this hack includes Altaria and runs in the mid-40s — a much bigger fight than vanilla's. Wally also appears in the Battle Frontier as a challenge opponent, along with the gym leaders, the Elite Four, both champions, Red and Leaf.
