Modern Emerald EV Yields: Where to Train Every Stat
Generated
Last updated: September 27, 2026
EV training in Modern Emerald is fast for one reason: Macho Brace multiplies EV gain by 5 instead of the vanilla doubling. Add the EV trainer in Lilycove and you can build a spread in minutes rather than hours.
All 436 Pokémon in the hack have an EV yield, and they are grouped below by the stat they give.
Best farming targets
The practical rule is simple: find the highest-EV species you can knock over quickly.
| Stat | Best targets |
|---|---|
Hp | Nidoqueen, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Mew, Azumarill, Celebi (3 EV each) |
Attack | Nidoking, Machamp, Victreebel, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Blaziken (3 EV each) |
Defense | Poliwrath, Golem, Steelix, Aggron, Metagross, Regirock (3 EV each) |
Specialattack | Charizard, Vileplume, Alakazam, Gengar, Zapdos, Moltres (3 EV each) |
Specialdefense | Blastoise, Articuno, Bellossom, Politoed, Slowking, Lugia (3 EV each) |
Speed | Pidgeot, Raichu, Crobat, Jumpluff, Sceptile, Deoxys (3 EV each) |

Training notes
- The Macho Brace is bought at the Battle Frontier Reward Shop, which means postgame — plan your big EV projects for after the credits, or accept slower gains before then.
- Vitamins still work and give 10 EV each with the usual 100-EV-per-stat cap from items.
- Player EVs is a difficulty option — it can be set to off (Emerald default), Scale, Hard or Extreme. If it is off, your Pokémon gain no EVs at all, and this page is irrelevant to that save.
- Trainer EVs does not affect the Battle Frontier, where every Pokémon keeps its EVs regardless of your setting.
EV yield data read from the extracted game data (ev-yields.json).
