Modern Emerald rebuilds the Battle Frontier rather than reskinning it. Every facility caps your team at level 50, whether your Pokémon are level 1 or level 100 — so a level 30 catch is as usable as a level 100 breed.

What is different

  • Every trainer in the Frontier has been changed. New Pokémon, including the post-Gen 3 species, with adjusted movesets and items.
  • Gym leaders, the Elite Four, both champions, Wally, the Magma and Aqua leaders, Red and Leaf all appear during Frontier challenges.
  • Win streaks multiply Battle Points. A long streak pays far better than farming short runs.
  • Trainer Hill is a real moneymaker: 20 BP per win, plus up to 1,000,000₽ if you finish inside ten minutes, scaling with your time.
  • "Frontier bans" is an option, and legendaries — including the small ones like the Regis and Lati@s — are only banned in Hard mode if you turned it on.

The BP shop and tutors

The Reward Shop sells the four event tickets (Eon, Mystic, Aurora, Old Sea Map), an Up-Grade and the Macho Brace. Lounge 7 hosts the Battle Point move tutors — 23 moves, from Soft-Boiled at 16 BP up to the three starter Hyper Beam variants at 64 BP.

The PokéMart next door sells Safari Balls, Max Revives, Ethers, Elixirs and PP Ups, and stocks every TM in the game when Reusable TMs is switched off.

Should you do the Frontier?

For the event tickets, yes: four legendaries are behind the Reward Shop, and it is the only place to get them. Macho Brace at ×5 EV gain is the other reason, and the tutor moves are the third — several of them, like the elemental punches, are not available any other way in Hoenn.
