Heart & Soul Berry Locations and Uses
Berries do a few different jobs in Heart & Soul: they are held battle items, some are growth ingredients, and several feed directly into Kurt's special Poké Ball system. This guide lists the berry locations currently published from Heart & Soul's source data. It does not pad the table with old spreadsheet locations that do not resolve to the current game world. That would be a very efficient way to send you to the wrong route.
Kurt's special Poké Balls
Heart & Soul uses berries, rather than vanilla Johto's Apricorns, for Kurt's special Poké Balls. Bring the relevant berry to Kurt in Azalea Town when you want one of these balls. PolishedDex records the seven resulting ball exchanges at Kurt's House.
The ball system has its own Heart & Soul behaviour, so treat a ball's name as a starting point rather than assuming it works exactly like the original games. Check the relevant item page when you need the published details.

Planning around a berry
Open the berry's item page for its current description and every published acquisition entry. Open the matching location page before you travel if you want the wider encounter and item context.
For a normal playthrough, the useful split is simple:
- carry healing and status berries when a boss fight is likely to run long;
- keep an eye on PP restoration before a cave or other longer route; and
- save the Kurt exchange berries for the special balls you actually plan to use.
The collection page will expand as source-backed extraction covers more berry acquisition paths. Until then, this guide only claims what the current Heart & Soul data can prove.
