In-Game Trades

Pokémon Red++ has 10 in-game trades, every one a one-for-one swap with a named NPC. Taylor on Route 11 hands over a Nidorina called Terry for your Nidorino, Calvin on Route 2 trades a Sneasel called Shadow for an Abra, and Ross in the Cinnabar lab gives a Houndour called Spot for a Growlithe.

Several are the only way to get what they offer: Sneasel and Togepi are flagged in the source as the only place to find them, and Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur are the only source if you did not pick them as your starter. Three of the ten traders stand in the Cinnabar Island lab, which makes that one room the densest trade stop in the game.

The nicknames and species come from the ROM's trade table, while the trader names and their locations come from the map scripts that trigger each trade — the table alone does not record who you are trading with.
