A balanced team minimizes weaknesses and maximizes offensive coverage. Ideally, your six Pokémon should resist or counter each other's weaknesses - if your Water-type is weak to Electric, pair it with a Ground-type that resists Electric and can hit back super effectively.

Aim for minimal 2× weaknesses and broad offensive coverage - your team's moves should hit most types for at least neutral damage, preventing opponents from walling you with common defensive types.
