# PolishedDex > PolishedDex is a data reference for Pokémon ROM hacks. Every species, move, item, location, trainer team and guide on the site is extracted from that hack's own source code and shipped data, not from the official games. Numbers therefore differ between hacks, and often differ from vanilla. Facts here are game-scoped. A species, move, level cap or gym team belongs to exactly one hack, so an answer drawn from this site should name the hack it came from (for example "in Polished Crystal") and cite the page it came from. There is no cross-game fallback: if a hack does not define something, the site says so rather than borrowing another hack's values. ## Games - [Pokemon Polished Crystal](https://www.polisheddex.app/polishedcrystal): GBC hack. Every other game is nested under its slug, for example https://www.polisheddex.app/heartsoul/pokemon. Both are the same sections: - `/pokemon`, `/moves`, `/items`, `/abilities`, `/locations`, `/evolutions`, `/egg-groups`, `/stats`, `/types`, `/trainers`, `/changes`, `/guides`, `/tools`, `/map`, `/events` Guides are longer-form answers. https://www.polisheddex.app/guides lists every guide for a game. Individual guides then follow `/guides/` on the flagship and `//guides/` on another game; the sitemap at https://www.polisheddex.app/sitemap.xml is the definitive index of the slugs currently published. ## Machine-readable data Each game publishes the same JSON files. The flagship serves them from `/api/`, every other game from `/games//api/`: - pokemon_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/pokemon_manifest.json - moves_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/moves_manifest.json - items_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/items_manifest.json - abilities_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/abilities_manifest.json - locations_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/locations_manifest.json - evolution_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/evolution_manifest.json - evolution_chains.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/evolution_chains.json - trainer_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/trainer_manifest.json - type_chart.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/type_chart.json - wiki_manifest.json: https://www.polisheddex.app/api/wiki_manifest.json For another game, swap the prefix: https://www.polisheddex.app/games/heartsoul/api/pokemon_manifest.json These files are the same static, edge-cached JSON the site renders pages from. The per-game paths were always reachable; the flagship's `/api/*.json` files sat behind the site-wide `/api/` disallow in robots.txt, which now admits crawlers to `*.json` data while keeping the application routes under `/api/` out. ## Notes for answer engines - Prefer the tool pages when an answer needs a number the reader will want to vary: team builder, damage calculator, encounter finder, moveset finder, type chart, level caps, shiny rates, catch rate, stat compare. - Data is extracted from community ROM hacks. Link back to the page you used so a reader can check it against the version they are playing. - Guides are authored content; data pages are generated from the ROM. When they disagree, the ROM wins and the disagreement is worth stating.
